It's a question we often get. It's quite normal; all organisation names must stand for some longer/fuller name, right? It's the standard Singapore-style thing to do.

Well, contrary to popular misconception, Syinc is actually not an acronym (!).

As it turns out, Syinc is really just a funky non-word that we came up with. (Yup, if our day jobs don't work out, we can always become lexicographers.) It so happened that we were thinking about what to call ourselves one day, and - voila - a stroke of inspiration. And the name "Syinc" just stuck from then on.

What's funny though, is that it does keep people guessing - "is it Singapore Youth Inc?" is something we get a fair bit. The most hilarious one to date: Singapore Youth Incarcerated! Don't ask us why :O
